Poker Face: Kaedweni Camp
This quest begins when Geralt speaks to one of the camp's major dice players.
He must first beat the two dice players in front of the canteen, Gondor and Fragile. Then he gains the right to play Zyvik. After defeating the sergeant, Madame Carole will then accept to play the witcher. Once he has challenged them all (and won), he gains the right to challenge the quartermaster's assistant, Lasota.
On defeating Lasota, Geralt is given a choice of reward: money (200 orens), or an armor diagrams. Beware, because those diagrams are actually not for armor, but for the crafting components leather (calling it "supple" in the English localization), hardened leather ("tempered"), or studded leather ("studded"), diagrams which he incidentally also sells for 176, 251, and 276 orens, respectively.
Chapter 2 Quests
I'm having a bit of trouble with a few quests in Chapter 2. I feel I'm closing in on the end of the chapter, and I'd like to tie up all loose ends, because me likes level ups.
First off: Dice Poker. How do I know who plays dice poker in Chapter 2? I found out Munro and Thaler play, and I already beat them, however the quest says I should look for more professionals. I can play with the gardener, Carmen and Vaska, but defeating them didn't update the quest.
Secondly: A Lost Lamb. This quest involves searching for a missing boy from Vaska's brickmaker village. The only clue is to talk to the druids. I went over, talked to them, then I talked with Morenn. then I went back to Vaska to tell her the druids didn't capture the boy. And the quest is still incomplete. I promised to bring the boy back, or something. Where do I find him? I remember searching every important spot on the swamp: wyvern island, druid's grove, lumberjack's clearing, golem cemetery, tower entrance, cave, shrine of melitele and Gramps' house. Nothing. Where is he?
By the way. why is there still no walkthroughs for this game? :P

What about the kid? In the dryad in the swamp topic, Kasimir Garda says he can only be found in Chapter 3, inside the Swamp Cave.
Is this true? I searched the whole of the cave in Chapter 2 and didn't find him. There's a blocked passage leading to another area. does it get cleared in ch.3?

I think its missing a few quests and important npc but it is a great amount of help. also there are some bits of info in the comments section on the bottom of some of the pages.

Every NPC in The Witcher 2 world plays Poker; humans, elves and dwarves. Dice Poker is a simple game, but you can earn a lot of orens since the bets are high.
For a game based on your fortune, there are not any specific tricks but just like a battle, you can have good chances if you throw first! And yes! If you are getting a good number, re-throw as fast as possible it is your lucky time!
Another good tip to follow is to always save your game before you get into a dice game. This way, you will not be losing orens if you are unlucky at the moment.
You can start a game by choosing the dialogue option: Lets play Dice. You will play the game using six-sided dice, and the game plays as follows:
- A dice poker board will appear after beginning the game. Your dice are at the bottom, while your opponents at the top.
- You place your bid using a slider. Your opponent can raise it, and you can accept that or pass.
- You roll the dice by placing them above the board and clicking the left mouse button. Moving the mouse when rolling influences the direction the dice will roll and how strong the throw will be. You must be careful not to throw them beyond the board. Your opponent rolls his dice after you roll yours.
- Now you can compare your dice roll to your opponents.
- Click the dice you would like to roll again. They will be highlighted. After
- accepting your choice, you will be able to increase your bid and make another roll.
- After your opponents roll, the dice are compared, and the player with the better roll takes the money.
Winning rolls, from highest to lowest:
- Five-of-a-kind: Five dice showing the same value
- Four-of-a-kind: Four dice showing the same value
- Full House: A pair and a three
- Six-high strait: Dice showing 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6
- Five-high strait: Dice showing 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5
- Three-of-a-kind: Three dice showing the same value
- Two pairs: Dice showing two matched pairs of values
- One Pair: Dice showing a single matched pair of values
Should both players have the same roll, the winner is determined by the value of his roll. If both players have the same roll and value, its a draw.
Chapter II | Walkthrough The Witcher Guide
This chapters begins in a dungeon and your goal is to escape from it - it's a quest called Q2.23. Prison Break . It'll guide you through the dungeon and into the sewers. Just after leaving the sewers, go visit Jethro to get back your equipment ( M8.23 ) - you won't be much of a Witcher without your sword.
