Spring fun on tap in Midwest casinos

With winter finally loosening its chilly grip, it's a great time to plan a Spring trip to a nearby casino. And if your entertainment tastes run to classic country, edgy rock, or even hip hypnotism, there's something for you coming soon to Michigan casino stages.

Visiting Michigan casinos in coming weeks will be the Smothers Brothers, Mickey Gilley, Trace Adkins, Joe Diffie, Ray Romano, Staind and Hoobestank.Little River Casino

In the middle of a coast-to-coast tour, Tom and Dick Smothers, or SmoBro to fans, will take the stage April 19 in Manistee. They've been making audiences laugh for more than 50 years. Tickets are $35-$55.

County music veteran Joe Diffie's fans -- the Diffie Cult -- will want to snag tickets for his April 25 show. They're priced at $25-$45.

On May 1, 60-year-old rocker Eddie Money will take the stage in the 1,700-seat Makwa Endaat (Bear's Den) Event Center. Tickets are $35-$55. Tickets for all shows are on sale at the casino's Odawa Trading Post gift shop, or online at startickets.com.

Soaring Eagle Casino

They'll be rockin' hard in Mount Pleasant when Skid Row, Firehouse and L.A. Guns roll into town on Friday. Tickets are $12-$25.

On April 17 and 18, comedy hypnotist and Las Vegas mainstay Anthony Cools brings his unusual brand of live entertainment to the casino stage for two shows. Tickets are $10-$22.

Brule AIRO -- American Indian Rock Opera -- will offer a stunning performance of Native American music and dance on April 24. Tickets are $10-$22. That's followed on April 25 with a performance by two of today's most exciting Native American singers, Crystal Shawanda and Star Nayea. Tickets are $9-$20.

On May 2, popular rockers Staind and special guests Hoobestank will crank up the energy. Tickets are $35-$60.

Former TV-brothers Ray Romano and Brad Garrett will share their R-rated stand-up insights on May 3. Tickets are $60-$95.

Kewadin Casinos

Country music veteran Mickey Gilley leaves his popular Branson, Mo., theater to visit the U.P. on Saturday. Tickets are $25 for the Sault Ste. Marie show.

On April 28, Staind and Hoobestank will get the Dreammaker's Theater rocking. Tickets are $42.50.

Arena rock from the '80s lives on, thanks to Chicago-area cover band High Infidelity, which will perform two shows on Friday and Saturday in the Michigan City, Ind., casino's It's Vegas Baby! lounge. Caesars Windsor

The Ten Tenors will perform six shows April 14-19. Tickets are $40.25-$51.75. Deal or No Deal host and Toronto-native Howie Mandel comes to the 5,000-seat Colosseum Theater on April 23. Tickets are $46-$57.50.

The youngest singer to win a Grammy Award, LeAnn Rimes, will entertain on April 25. Tickets are $34.50-$46.
